Christmas tree farms in Ohio.
Ohio’s Christmas tree choices range from fir, spruce and pine fields in the Lake Erie counties to small growers in the southern hills, with nurseries and seasonal lots around its cities. Some visits begin with a walk and a handsaw; others involve choosing a tree for the crew to cut or browsing a ready-cut display. The guides below distinguish those formats, the actual visitor location and the conditions that shape the trip. Compare the tree size and whole purchase price first, then the selling days, reservation requirements and any shops or activities you want to visit.
Choose the size and format
Doc Miller’s publishes field trees from 5–16 feet at $70 including tax, with cash or check payment. Kurtz’s field Canaan firs and white pines reach seven feet; its ready-cut selection is generally 5–12 feet. Oakland’s garden-center branches offer ready-cut shopping. These are different ways to buy, and advertised height ranges still need a stock check.
Compare preparation costs
Storeyland’s latest published tree prices include tax, shaking, baling and drilling; card payments add 4%. Medina lists netting, drilling and stand installation at $5 each. Greene Acres includes cutting help, shaking, netting and loading with field Canaan firs, whose per-foot rate changes by height. Keep the species, size and preparation charges together when comparing prices.
Book the right selling day
Country Cabin requires reservations for its three selling days, November 27–29, with booking opening November 1. Fly-A-Way’s published season is December 5–6 only. Koch uses one reservation per family, regardless of tree count; Spring Valley charges a separate $5 reservation for each tree. Follow each location’s current calendar and booking terms before traveling.
Choose the holiday extras
Medina’s animals, moving Christmas collection and weekend refreshments belong to its Main Farm. Young’s offers complimentary cocoa and popcorn in the gift shop, with reserved field visits separate from pre-cut and shop hours. Country Cabin sells cocoa and cider alongside greenery and decorations. Check the branch, date and any separate cost for the stop you want.
