Choose your Christmas tree.
Mountain Creek’s field choices cover Fraser, grand and Canaan fir, blue, Norway and white spruce, and Scotch and white pine. The detailed fir and spruce pages quote field prices of $100 up to 6 feet and $125 at 7 feet and taller; confirm a tree between those stated bands rather than assuming an unpublished tier.
Published blue spruce sizes are about 5–8 feet, with the operator’s published recommendation to buy blue spruce after December 3. Larger Fraser firs, around 7–10 feet, are directed to the premium barn selection. Fresh Cut Barn Fraser firs run 6–10 feet, starting at $125.
Grand fir has a particularly strong citrus-like fragrance but limited availability. Canaan and Fraser fir have softer needles; blue and Norway spruce offer firm branches. Ask staff to match the available species to your ornaments and room.

The farm visit.
Selecting and preparing your tree
The farm usually supplies saws. Its guide recommends two people for cutting and cautions about holes, stumps, vines and uneven terrain in the fields. Bring the tree to the barn for cleaning and netting before loading.
Shaking is offered to remove loose needles and debris. Confirm any separate preparation costs with the tree price. Responsible dog owners may bring their dogs.
