Choose your Christmas tree.

Pioneer Trails offers cut-your-own trees up to 10 feet for $85 and individually tagged pre-cut trees from 4–12 feet at $50–$350. Previously published choices also include tabletop trees with stands and potted trees; confirm renewed potted-tree stock. The barn display helps you compare species before taking a saw into the fields.

Fraser and Canaan fir are prominent choices, alongside spruce and pine varieties. The grower describes soft-needled firs, sturdy spruce branches and different pine shapes; walk or ride to the fields that suit the tree you want rather than assuming every species has the same height range.

The farm visit.

From greeter to loading

The farm guide begins with display trees and a greeter who explains the map. Take a supplied saw and, if walking, a sled; wagons also connect the fields. Bring the cut tree back to the barn for free shaking, wrapping and stand drilling.

Covered tractor wagon rides, saws, sleds, drilling for Stand Strait stands and twine are included without an additional service charge. Pick up free twine at the exit and load your tree for home. Cash and major credit cards are accepted; pets are welcome.

Wagons, cocoa and gifts

Covered tractor-drawn wagons operate through the Christmas season. The latest published horse-wagon program lists November 28–30 and December 6–7, 10am–4pm, with no fee or appointment required. Confirm the renewed dates before planning specifically for horses.

The barn concession stand sells premium cocoa, donuts, hot dogs and other treats. The gift shop groups ornaments on themed display trees and carries handmade wood-burned ornaments and farm apparel. A wooden dollar supplied with a tree purchase can be redeemed for a $1 discount the following year.

Selected extended Friday nights add lighted wagon rides, flashlights for the tree search and a bonfire. Their published dates are December 5 and 12, noon–8pm; confirm the season’s program before arranging an evening visit.

Separate photography and summer visits

Professional and amateur photography sessions are booked separately at $75 for one 60-minute session with a single client or $180 for a day. Sessions need at least five days’ notice, consent paperwork and confirmed blackout dates; no photography is permitted on farm roads and vehicles stay in parking areas.

The spring and summer field-trip department and landscape-tree inventory have separate arrangements. Confirm holiday hours with the Christmas farm contact.
