Christmas tree farm guide

Christmas tree farms in Indiana.

Find a place for your Christmas-tree tradition around Fortville, Thorntown, Zionsville, West Lafayette, Greensburg, Hamlet, Wanatah or Fort Wayne. Take your time choosing a tree in the field, or stop for a pre-cut tree ready for home. The listings below bring together prices, opening days and the Christmas activities that can turn tree shopping into an outing.

Choose field cutting, pre-cut or a living tree

Browse pre-cut trees at Watts, at Traders Point Creamery, or head into the fields at Guse for a choose-and-cut visit. Dull’s, Hensler, Sambol’s, Bohman, Cassens and Piney Acres offer both field cutting and pre-cut shopping. St. Joe also has living potted trees; keep their indoor Christmas stay short and plan for their care afterward.

Compare the complete height and species scales

The tree you choose sets the price. Dull’s has different 6–9ft tiers for pines and firs, while Hensler includes tax and baling. Sambol’s posted height tiers include equipment and preparation. Cassens and Piney Acres have detailed guides: Cassens varies each tag by fullness, while Piney separates five species groups and applies a minimum fir charge.

Choose a day for your tree-farm visit

Dull’s and Hensler have 2026 selling calendars, and Piney Acres announces a November 21–December 21 tree season. Pre-cut shopping begins before field cutting at Sambol’s. Bohman and Watts have announced their 2026 openings without a final closing date. Guse and St. Joe post selling calendars; check with those farms when choosing your day.

Plan appointments and a longer Christmas outing

Book one tree-sale appointment per car at St. Joe. Sambol’s requires appointments November 27–28, 2026, and Dull’s requires reserved wagon rides November 27–29. Hensler’s reserve field is a separate stop with card-only checkout. If you’re making a day of it, look at Dull’s festival days, Piney’s separately ticketed holiday events and the farms’ posted Santa visits or wreath workshops. Each has its own dates and visit conditions.
