Wonderland’s home page names six varieties: Virginia pine, Scotch pine, Leyland cypress, White pine, Turkish fir and pre-cut Fraser fir. It does not say which varieties grow in which field and gives no size range or per-species price, so judge each tree by its tag. A Facebook reply from early November adds that some Virginia and “Lob Lobby” pines are over 12 feet this year, and that the farm has ordered premium-grade pre-cut Fraser fir and would put a name on a 12 to 13 foot one.

Trees are marked with tags that show price and approximate height, and only tagged trees are for sale. Fields with a rope barrier are closed for the season. The farm does not take reservations for field trees, so you choose and cut on the day. The farm also lists assorted small potted trees on its pricing page, with no sizes, varieties or prices.

Upward branches and good needle retention; firmer branches can suit heavier ornaments.
White pine
Long, soft needles and flexible branches; choose lighter decorations.

Grey “no tag” trees under about 5 feet are not available for harvest, and the chart asks visitors not to cut them. Purple trees, 11 feet and up, are individually priced, so ask at the farm before you cut one. The chart states no tax.

From the field to your car: saws, carts, shaking, netting and loading

The farm provides the hand saws, and you may bring your own. Gloves are recommended. Chainsaws, axes, hatchets and all power saws are prohibited on the farm. Saw stands are placed around the fields, and you pick up a tree cart as well.

When you have cut your tree, bring it to the tree corral, where it is shaken and netted for transport. Take the bottom section of the tag to the gift shop, leaving the top section on the tree, and the tree is loaded and secured on your car. You may load it yourself if you prefer. The farm does not publish a charge for shaking, netting or loading, and it does not take reservations to hold a tree and return later.

Varieties, pre-cut Fraser fir and small potted trees

Besides field trees, the farm lists pre-cut Fraser fir on its variety list and shows a Fraser Fir Pavilion in its Facebook intro. The farm has not published Fraser prices, sizes or ordering terms, and the only detail it gives is a reply offering to put a name on a pre-cut 12 to 13 foot tree. The farm also lists assorted small potted trees on its pricing page.

The farm does not say how many trees of each variety are available or where each grows. Ask at the farm when you arrive.

Early Bird weekend, the season calendar and special events

The farm opens the weekend before Thanksgiving for its Early Bird shoppers, with no reservation required. Early bird weekend is November 21–22, and the farm adds themed events on later dates: Duck the Halls on Friday, November 27, Holly Jolly Pony Extravaganza Days on November 28–29 and Feliz Navi-Dog Day on Saturday, December 5.

Duck the Halls invites visitors to search the tree farm for hidden Christmas duckies. Feliz Navi-Dog Day invites you to bring your dog for complimentary treats and to help sniff out your tree. The farm’s line for the pony days is “Jingle all the way, one pony ride at a time”; it publishes no pony ride price, age or weight rule, so ask at the farm. The calendar is subject to change based on tree availability.

Hayride, the Mercantile gift shop, hot chocolate, cookies and Letters to Santa

The farm’s features page lists a hayride, shopping at the Mercantile, local food vendors, hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, wreaths and greenery, and a Letters to Santa mailbox on the shop porch. The farm publishes no prices for any of these, no hayride dates or times and no statement of whether the hayride is free, so confirm each at the farm. The farm does not state an admission fee.

The Mercantile is also where you turn in the bottom section of your tag and where delivery is arranged. Hot chocolate and Christmas cookies are sold in the gift shop, and the farm says its food vendors may not sell them. Wreaths and greenery are listed without sizes, prices or dates.

Photos with the farm’s props, and professional photographers

The farm lists a vintage sleigh, a ’53 Chevy and a camper on the farm to take pictures with all season, asking visitors to limit their time to five minutes at each prop and to tag Wonderland Tree Farm as the location. The farm mentions no charge for the props. Photos with your own phone or camera are welcome during open hours.

Professional photography is a separate arrangement. Mini sessions are booked and completed before the regular season, and the farm’s booking page sells location reservations for professional photographers, not a session with a photographer. The farm does not allow its props for professional sessions in season, and a photographer whose day is rained out must text the farm the same day; the farm’s page does not publish that text number or the rates.

Delivery, payment, pets, restrooms and the lay of the land

The farm offers front-door delivery within 20 miles; ask at the gift shop for details, because no price or dates are published. Payment is cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Leashed pets are welcome, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them. Portable bathrooms are placed around the farm.

This is a working farm with a gravel parking lot, gravel and mulch walkways and farmland with holes, bumps and mud, and the farm asks visitors with access questions to email it; it makes no accessibility claim for the grounds. To care for your tree, keep it watered and away from direct sun, fireplaces, wood stoves and heating vents. The farm publishes no weather closure rule.

The farm, getting there and contacts

Wonderland is run by Martin and Jill Babb at 14821 Miser Road in Pea Ridge. The farm’s story begins with a family search for the perfect Christmas tree and the idea of growing their own. The home page also lists magazine and travel-site recognition and an appearance on HGTV’s Fixer to Fabulous, which are the farm’s own claims. An Arkansas agritourism notice on the home page says an operator is not liable for the inherent risks of animals, weather and land conditions.

For questions, call the farm’s general number, (866) 235-0863, or email info@wonderlandtreefarm.com. Craft and food vendors who want a space at the farm write to vendors@wonderlandtreefarm.com; that is a vendor arrangement, separate from a visit. The farm also posts on its Facebook page.
