Tidwell’s field trees are Virginia pine and Leyland cypress, which its website names, and Carolina Sapphire, which its Facebook page adds. The farm describes the visit as touring the farm to spot your perfect tree, and on Facebook invites visitors to come choose a live tree. It publishes no height range, so look at the tag and the tree together.
The farm also lists live Christmas trees in potted containers, without a species, size or price. Ask which potted trees are available this season.

Choose a tagged tree in the field
The farm invites families to tour the field and spot the perfect tree. Its three field varieties are Virginia pine, Leyland cypress and Carolina Sapphire, and last season’s trees were marked with white tags showing the price. In a reply to a visitor on Facebook, the farm explained that a yellow ribbon means a tree has already been sold, so look for a white tag.
The farm’s page puts its price at about $10 a foot and says each tree’s tag has the exact figure. It does not publish a size range or separate prices by variety, and it does not say who cuts the tree, so ask when you arrive how cutting and loading work.
| Selection & size | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Virginia pine, Leyland cypress or Carolina Sapphire; size not published | About $10 a foot | Approximate; the tag shows the exact price. A yellow ribbon marks a tree already sold. |
| Potted live trees | Not published | Offered in containers; no species or size is given |

Free hot chocolate, tree shaker, netting and baler
The farm’s website lists hot chocolate, a tree shaker, netting and a baler under free attractions. The hot chocolate is available on cold mornings.
The farm does not say who runs the shaker, netting and baler, or whether trees are carried to the car, so ask at the farm.
| Extra | Cost | Conditions |

| Baler | Free | Listed on the farm’s website |
The Christmas store, wreaths and handmade items
Step into the farm’s cozy little Christmas store for bargains on tree stands and ornaments, or something handmade to take home. The farm says it makes its own Christmas wreaths and some woodworking items with a bit of local color, and its website lists trees, ornaments, tree stands, decorations, wreaths and handmade items for sale.
The farm gives no prices, sizes or ordering route for the store items or the wreaths, and no store hours beyond its general hours, so ask at the farm.
Hours, appointments and the opening-day conflict
The farm’s website, still showing last season, says it is open weekends only, from November 22 through December 21, 9am to dark. It adds that weekday appointments may be made by calling 870-352-7371 or 501-837-4060. The farm’s Facebook page does not match it exactly: last season it said its official open day was Black Friday, with an earlier tree available by calling, and on one December day it gave 10am to dark.
Because both are last season’s words and they disagree, neither settles this season’s opening day or start time. The farm’s own pages are better guides than the hours in outside directories, which differ again. Call one of the farm’s numbers to confirm before you go. Last season the farm was open in rain, sleet or snow, and on one rainy day it closed early because of the weather and fading light.

Payment, getting there and contacts
The farm accepts cash, checks and Venmo. It serves south Arkansas and the surrounding area, and its directions begin in Fordyce: from Main Street, follow AR-274 South for 6.8 miles. Turn right on County Road 1702, which the farm also writes as County Road 78 (look for signs), and go 2.6 miles. Turn left on County Road 162; the farm is the second driveway on the left, 0.3 mile along.
The farm does not publish pet rules, parking, restrooms, terrain, accessibility, minimums or a refund policy, so ask when you call. For weekday appointments and questions call 870-352-7371 or 501-837-4060; the farm’s Facebook page lists 501-837-4060. The website also has a contact form, and the farm posts on its Facebook page.
