Choose your Christmas tree.
Spruce Rock’s announced selection includes choose-and-cut Norway, blue and white spruce and Canaan fir, alongside precut Fraser and concolor firs. Field trees available for cutting are flagged; the older practical page specifies that field trees shorter than 6 feet are retained. Check current size availability rather than treating all growing trees as sale stock. The practical page expects imported precut firs in 6–7-foot and 8–9-foot bands from growers in Southwest Virginia; those planned deliveries are separate from the flagged field stock and need confirmation.
The current opening notice says walk-ins can be accommodated but strongly encourages an appointment. Its announced selling days are November 27–29 and December 5–6, 12–13 and 19–20, 10am–4pm. The website still carries an older header and appointment wording elsewhere, so use the current booking calendar and seasonal announcement when arranging a visit.

The farm visit.
Cutting and handling
The farm supplies handsaws and prohibits chainsaws. Its practical page advertises free shaking and baling, with shaking described for trees under 10 feet. Confirm processing for a larger tree before selecting it. Ask about the current flagged field choice before setting out; growing trees are not all available to cut.
Handmade wreaths
Tim makes most wreaths on 12-inch rings; the finished diameter is generally 18–22 inches depending on the greens. Single-species and mixed-green wreaths are offered, with bows and decorations available. The Christmas shop gives visitors a separate place to compare these finishing pieces.
Vintage Christmas items and family-made pottery are described in the farm’s practical page. That page also advertises complimentary hot cider and chocolate, while the shop page simply lists drinks as available; confirm the day’s refreshments and shop selection when arranging the visit.
Payment and preparing the visit
Cash, checks, debit and credit cards and phone-app payments are welcomed in the current notice. Consult the farm’s practical and appointment pages for current stock before travelling, especially for a particular height or species.
