Choose your Christmas tree.
Foxfire’s fields in Buckingham County grow white pine, Douglas fir, Scotch pine and Norway spruce. The typical self-cut range is 5–10 feet, with the selection thinning above 7–8 feet. Around a hundred precut Fraser firs from a North Carolina partner are also planned in the 6–10-foot range; they are a separate selection from the Virginia field trees.
Collect a supplied handsaw and cart, explore the fields, then give the cut tree a shake and use the cart to take it to the wreath shack to pay. Guest cutting tools are not permitted. After payment the crew nets the tree and can help tie it to a car roof, including a vehicle without a roof rack.

Wreaths and a picnic
Handmade wreaths use clippings from the Foxfire trees, with seasonal decorations at the wreath shack. Picnics are permitted; alcohol and smoking are prohibited. A private tour, event or professional photography session needs a separate arrangement.
Planning the visit
The announced opening is November 27. The published seasonal pattern is Thanksgiving weekend and Thursday–Sunday in December. The latest detailed hour block is 9am–5pm, but confirm current hours before travelling.
Cash, checks, Apple Pay and major cards are accepted through Square. Expect rocks, stumps, holes and uneven ground. There is no EV charger; the operator identifies Glenmore Country Store and Howardsville General Store as nearby fuel stops.
Bringing children or pets
Keep children close in the parking area and account for bumpy ground if bringing a wagon. The farm asks visitors to leave pets at home during the busy Christmas season; any pets brought must remain leashed. Quiet-season pet accommodation requires its own arrangement.
