Choose your Christmas tree.
Rifton offers choose-and-cut Christmas trees at its Floyd County nursery, with Fraser and Canaan fir, Colorado blue, Norway and Serbian spruce, white pine and Virginia redcedar among the named choices. Live dug trees are also available; arrange that rooted-tree purchase separately from choosing a cut tree.
The nursery’s selection guide gives useful differences to consider. Fraser fir has short blue-green needles and a fragrant scent; white pine has long, softer foliage for a lighter decorating touch. Norway and blue spruce have stiff branches suited to heavier ornaments, while Serbian spruce has two-toned needles. Check which varieties and sizes are ready before travelling for a particular choice.
After selecting a tree, the crew will bale it and help load. The operator does not state a separate handling price in this description. A heated indoor restroom is available, a useful practical detail for a cold-weather visit.

Thanksgiving weekend, then appointments
The announced public opening is Thanksgiving weekend only: November 27, 28 and 29, 10am–5pm. From the following week, visits become appointment-only. Call or message the nursery to arrange a later visit; limited weekday hours are also by arrangement.
Wreaths, garland and a family photo
Rifton produces wreaths and garland alongside its trees. The nursery also grows landscape stock, which should be checked separately from the Christmas selection.
A decorated tree in the field is also offered as a setting for your own family Christmas photograph. It is a small extra to fit into the tree visit; a professional photography session is not included in this invitation.
