Choose your Christmas tree.
Ridge Road Ranch is a family choose-and-cut farm in Rockbridge County. Its last posted selection groups concolor, Canaan and Nordmann fir together at $95 for trees up to 8 feet, while white pine and a small selection of Scotch pine are $50 up to 8 feet. Taller trees are priced individually on their tags.
Bow saws are provided, so the field visit includes the cutting tool. Tree netting is available, but the posted description does not say it is complimentary. Check the marked total for a taller tree and any netting charge before cutting.

The farm visit.
A small farm with a short posted season
The farm’s latest notice thanks customers and says that season is closed. Its posted selling dates were November 28 and 29, 10am–4pm; check for the next opening and remaining selection before driving. A seasonal closure notice does not establish that the farm has retired.
Cash, checks and leashed pets
Payment is by cash or check only, with no credit cards. Pets are welcome on a leash. The farm’s approach is from Ridge Road, with published directions from Interstate 81 exits 200 and 205; use the farm address rather than a Raphine centre pin.
