Choose your Christmas tree.
Moose Apple offers field cutting by reservation or fall pre-tagging, plus a separate precut area that does not require an ordinary appointment. Field varieties include Canaan, Douglas and concolor fir, Norway and blue spruce, white pine and Blue Ice. The posted FAQ gives a $150 field-tree price. Pre-tagging takes a $50 nonrefundable deposit and requires an appointment to return and cut. A separate cutting-slot reservation costs $50 and is credited toward the total tree price; this is distinct from the nonrefundable fall pre-tagging deposit.
Ordinary 6–8-foot precuts can be selected as walk-ins. Larger trees require particular care when planning: the homepage directs guaranteed 9–12-foot trees to online preorder, while another page describes a broader 6–15-foot precut range and separately requires online purchase to guarantee limited large trees. Arrange an extra-large tree in advance rather than relying on walk-in stock. The website also gives conflicting reservation-open messages; use the booking system or contact the farm to confirm an available cutting slot.
The farm’s earlier linked pre-tagging instructions collect sales tax at pickup after the $50-per-tree deposit and require a return cutting appointment. Confirm those terms with your particular booking. They are separate from the cutting-slot fee credited toward the tree price.

The farm visit.
From check-in to loading
Collect a handsaw and sled at check-in. Cutting assistance is available on request; the crew drills compatible stand-straight trunks, shakes, bales and helps tie the tree onto the vehicle. Confirm any current handling charge when booking.
Some of the largest blue and white spruces cannot fit through the baler. The earlier linked tagging guidance says those trees need a pickup truck for unbaled transport, so plan the vehicle before selecting an oversized tree.
Wreaths, the shop and food
Handmade wreaths combine Fraser fir, white pine, Blue Ice and Douglas fir. The 14-inch base makes an approximately 20-inch finished wreath; the 18-inch base finishes at about 24–26 inches. Choose a finished style or select ribbons in the shop. Candy-cane and horse-shaped designs are also catalogued. Wreaths can be ordered for pickup or shipped as gifts; check the actual product’s current availability before ordering. The Christmas shop sells gifts and décor and can be visited during farm opening without a reservation. On tree-cutting days, breakfast donuts and hot drinks are joined by burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, fries and mac-and-cheese bites at lunchtime.
Cash, checks, major cards and Apple Pay are accepted. Pets are not admitted and portable toilets are available. Professional photography must be arranged separately by email. Only one photographer is admitted per day, and the stated arrangement requires a $50 Christmas-shop gift certificate purchase for each photographer’s client.
A cutting reservation can be changed by reopening the original reservation and selecting another available time. Keep that booking change separate from the farm’s nonrefundable pre-tagging deposit and any online large-tree purchase conditions.
Choose a variety and a cutting time
For a tree that will stand indoors early in the season, compare the farm’s fir choices with its spruces. The grower’s earlier linked tagging guidance recommends waiting until December 7 to cut spruce and Blue Ice for better needle retention; confirm the current cutting advice when arranging the visit. Canaan fir offers short soft needles with strong branches; concolor has longer silvery-green needles, a citrus scent and strong branches.
Douglas fir has softer needles and more flexible branches, while white pine suits lighter ornaments. Blue Ice has silvery foliage, a citrus fragrance and strong branches. Fraser fir is a precut-only offering here, so it should not be confused with a field tree covered by a cutting reservation.
