Choose your Christmas tree.
The Apperson family’s MillFarm offers a choose-and-tag visit before the main cutting season. Weekend cutting follows Thanksgiving and continues toward Christmas only while trees remain. The operator gives a specific November 1–7 tagging window alongside its broader after-Halloween wording; arrange the current tagging day before setting off.
Field trees are listed at $8 per foot, with an explicit rule against cutting trees under 6 feet. Precut Fraser firs provide another option, priced individually by their size and style rather than at the field-tree rate.

The farm visit.
Handmade wreaths and greenery
The family uses evergreen branches and winterberry holly for handmade wreaths and other greenery, sold at the farm and at the Williamsburg Farmers Market. These give you a separate choice for doors and smaller decorating spaces.
A different visit in fruit season
The farm also grows strawberries, blackberries and blueberries, with peaches available in summer. Those harvests have their own picking or collection arrangements and are separate from the Christmas-tree visit. The Fenton Mill Road tree address is in James City County, outside Williamsburg’s incorporated city.
