Choose your Christmas tree.
Loudoun Nursery offers a field walk for choosing and cutting a Christmas tree grown on its western Loudoun County farm. Any available cut tree is $100 regardless of size. The selection includes Norway and Meyer spruce, Canaan, Nordmann and concolor fir, Colorado blue spruce and Korean fir, with availability varying by variety and height. Check the current size inventory before travelling for a particularly tall tree.
Living Christmas trees are a separate purchase. The nursery lists fabric-grown Colorado blue spruce at 3–4 feet and Norway and white spruce at 4–5 feet for $150 each. These keep their roots for planting afterward; they are not included in the $100 cut-tree price. The operator recommends roughly two weeks indoors or less, with the root area kept watered.

The farm visit.
Christmas weekends at the farm
Cutting opens Thanksgiving Friday and continues on published weekends before Christmas, 9am–4pm, without an appointment. Other nursery visits should be arranged before travelling. Use the Short Hill Road farm entrance rather than a Purcellville town-centre destination.
Leashed dogs are welcome during tree season. Severe weather can affect access and hours, so check conditions before setting out. Photography sessions are arranged separately around farm operations.
Match the variety to the height you need
The nursery’s availability list separates ordinary field sizes from the much smaller tall-tree selection. Norway spruce and Canaan fir have 5–7-foot bands with only a few trees 8 feet and taller; Nordmann reaches 5–8 feet with fewer taller choices. Meyer spruce is listed at 5–7 feet, while Colorado blue spruce at 5–7 feet and concolor at 5–8 feet are limited. Korean fir is also named by the nursery; confirm its current heights and availability directly.
These are the grower’s posted availability bands, not reserved inventory. All available cut-tree sizes still use the same $100 price. For a living tree, allow for the rooted container when planning transport and planting; if planting must wait, the nursery advises keeping the tree protected outdoors and watering periodically.
