The Madison Exchange Club’s Christmas-tree fundraiser brings precut Canadian trees to Madison Green. Proceeds support local service activities, including youth programs, the Independence Day Parade and child-abuse prevention. This is a community tree lot rather than a field-cutting farm.
The previous published sale began November 28 and opened Thursday through Sunday, 11am–5pm. Check the club’s current seasonal announcement before travelling. Species, sizes and tree prices should be confirmed for the stock available.
Planning the tree purchase
Use the club’s current email or linked announcement for sale arrangements. Its post-office box is for mail and is not the tree lot.
The club links a separate Boy Scout Troop 490 collection service for recycling an already used tree, in return for a donation. That is not delivery of a purchased tree and is not an included lot service.
A previous family event on the Green
A previous December 6 tree-sale event included a 1pm reading of Calvin the Christmas Tree, with author Stephen Bowling available through the afternoon to sign books. Sweet treats were offered for children. Books were sold at a discount, with part of the proceeds supporting the club. This is a past event example; check for a new announcement before planning a reading or author visit.
After bringing the tree home
The club recommends putting the tree in clean water promptly and making a fresh one-inch cut from the trunk if needed. For a few days of temporary storage, keep it cool and stand the freshly cut base in a bucket that stays full of water. Protect the cut surface from dirt and damage.
