The previous homepage priced any size or variety at $100, with $95 for cash or check; its FAQ describes a $5 cash discount and says Connecticut sales tax is included. Reindeer and the cafe
Belle and Rudy are the farm’s resident reindeer. The Rockin’ Reindeer Cafe offers wreaths, tree stands, snacks and gifts. A nativity and a 17-foot Santa are also described in the farm’s published material. Visits by Santa have separately announced dates and are not promised during every tree-shopping visit.
Dogs must remain on a leash and away from the reindeer. Do not feed the reindeer. The gift shop also offers personalized ornaments with names, dates or a message; ask about the item and preparation time when ordering.
Tree-selling hours and the next opening
Restrooms and a gift shop are listed. Previously published hours distinguish weekdays, 10am–4pm, from weekends, 9am–4pm, with Thanksgiving closed. Check the current season’s schedule, cafe operation and tree prices before making a special trip.
The farm contact is 860-648-2233 or dzentree@aol.com. The old event calendar and the association’s different opening date do not establish the next season’s first day, so use the new farm announcement before travelling for a specific attraction.
From cutting to the trip home
Handsaws and rope are supplied, and the farm offers tree baling; the association also lists no-charge wrapping. The operator permits safely used chainsaws with consideration for others, while recommending the supplied handsaws. Trees cannot be tagged in advance.
Delivery is offered to selected towns by arrangement. Ask staff whether your address is covered and agree the fee and service before relying on delivery. The operator describes about sixty acres of balsam and Fraser fir and three acres of blue spruce. Ask which fields are open for choosing and about the route if you need assistance.
Previously scheduled Santa and seasonal visits
The previous calendar ran from November 22 to December 20, with Thanksgiving closed. On the listed farm dates, Santa and Mrs. Claus visited the North Pole Village beside the Rockin’ Reindeer Gift Shop, and Dude’s Donuts operated during the day. Check the next announced dates and any charges rather than arriving for an old event.
That seasonal programme also collected non-perishable food for the South Windsor Food Bank and new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots at the Welcome Center or gift shop. Off-site sponsored events and parades have separate locations and are not activities included with a tree visit.
The earlier November 29 and December 6 radio-broadcast visits ran noon–2 pm and included Toys For Tots donations. Those were scheduled farm events; the sponsored Grinchmas gathering at 350 Foster Street and the Ellington/Broad Brook parades were offsite. Confirm a renewed programme before planning either around tree shopping.
