Barry Farms’ operator tree guide describes choose-and-cut trees mostly around 5–8 feet, with Fraser and balsam fir, some concolor and a small blue-spruce selection. The association’s shared farm list also includes Canaan fir. Confirm the day’s available variety rather than assuming every field type is stocked at every height.
Nova Scotia balsam precuts provide another choice; check their arrival timing at the farm. There are no reservations, and visitors can take the time they need to select. Saws, a tree shaker and a netting machine are available. Netting was an optional extra in the previous offer; confirm the renewed handling arrangements. The operator specifically says there are currently no public restrooms.

Handmade greenery and the Christmas store
Wreaths and centerpieces use locally harvested fir, spruce, laurel and pine. Farm-grown winterberries add color to the arrangements and can also be purchased for your own decorating. Half-barrel porch arrangements and della robbias are among the handmade choices. The wreath guide gives a standard width of 20–24 inches, with hand-tied ribbon and custom or oversized wreaths by arrangement. Custom centerpieces, loose greens and winterberry orders can be discussed ahead; quantity discounts are offered by preorder, with the amount quoted by the farm.
The Christmas store carries local artisan soaps, lotions, foods, ceramics, ornaments and gifts. The association lists the payment choices are cash, checks and cards. Its daily 9am–4pm pattern remains subject to the operator’s announced opening, closing and prices.
Previous tree price and harvest limits
The previously published season priced both choose-and-cut and precut trees at $75 including tax, with optional netting/bagging at $2. Tagging was not allowed. These are prior published prices, so confirm the new-season offer before budgeting.
The previously published season opened Thanksgiving Friday, November 28, with daily 9am–4pm sales until the farm’s harvest limit. The field closed December 6 to protect the following crop, and the whole sale closed December 7, apart from a few remaining precuts by arrangement. Those dated closure notices are not permanent farm closure or a confirmed new calendar.
Use the main farm contact, 860-567-0649 or robert@barryfarmsllc.com, for the next season’s tree and greenery arrangements. The later end-of-season notice gave Bob’s separate number for the last few precuts; it was a limited end-of-season arrangement, not a renewed stock promise.
A family-grown tree farm
Bob and Tammy Barry planted 1,200 trees in their first spring at the Harwinton property. Their long-running handmade greenery work sits alongside the tree fields and local-makers’ Christmas store. The farm’s harvest limit helps leave growing trees for the next season.
