Displayed fresh-cut tree
Nine fir and pine varieties are listed. Individually tagged trees run $80–$650, with common 6–8ft choices at $190–$300; selection varies.
Cutting experience
Already harvested trees are placed in the field for visitors to cut down again. The varieties and posted price range match the fresh-cut selection.
A tree with roots
Living spruces, pines and junipers are individually priced at $59–$699. Allow for the heavy root container, pot height and later outdoor care.
CreekSide offers three distinct ways to take home a Christmas tree at its Niwot lot: a displayed fresh-cut tree, a living tree with roots, and its cut-your-own experience. Fresh-cut sizes can range from three to sixteen feet, with most trees between five and nine feet. Fraser, Noble, Nordmann, Douglas, Balsam, Grand and Concolor firs and Scotch or White pine are listed, subject to availability.
The cutting experience needs a clear explanation: freshly harvested, already cut trees are placed into the field without roots for visitors to cut down again. It recreates the tree-search and sawing activity rather than offering an ordinary rooted choose-and-cut plantation. Its varieties and posted price range match the fresh-cut selection. The operator suggests a headlamp and bow saw for an after-dark visit; follow the lot's closing hours and ask staff about the practical cutting arrangement.

Taking home a living tree
Living trees are available only at Niwot, with Colorado-suited spruces, pines and upright junipers depending on supply. Spruce choices include blue or green Colorado, Norway, White, Serbian, columnar and dwarf selections such as Bakeri, Fat Albert, Baby Blue Eyes, Hoopsi and Blue Diamond. Pine options include Ponderosa, Austrian and White pine. This is a tree to plant later, so consider its mature landscape needs as well as how it will look with ornaments.
The pot adds eight to eighteen inches to the displayed height and considerable weight. Common three-to-six-foot selections are priced at $199–$599 within the wider $59–$699 range; the operator notes that a tree and root container can weigh about a hundred pounds. Plan how to move it indoors and out, use a tray to catch moisture, and ask for the specific watering and planting instructions. CreekSide recommends limiting its indoor stay to three weeks or less.
Gradually move a living tree between outdoor temperatures and the house using a porch or garage. Keep the root ball moist, place it in a cooler part of the room and do not add fertilizer while it is indoors. After Christmas, reverse that transition; the tree can remain outdoors in its pot until spring, with the operator recommending weekly watering before planting.
The living-tree page advertises a one-year warranty covering 50% of the purchase price and says there are no exclusions. The linked general policy instead describes a one-for-one credit for 50% of the purchase price, applied to one product and used within 30 days after issue, and excludes seasonal products and services. Ask the nursery to confirm the written or invoice coverage for your particular living Christmas tree before purchase. The general terms make transactions final, with no refunds; any exchange or credit exception needs the nursery’s permission.

Handling help and a holiday atmosphere
Staff gives purchased fresh-cut trees another base cut and premium netting, and complimentary loading is available for all tree formats when needed. Stands and accessories, handmade wooden ornaments and log reindeer or snowmen sit alongside the selection.
Earlier published cutting-experience arrangements included handsaws and headlamps supplied when needed, plus hot chocolate, tea and candy canes subject to supply. The current tree guide suggests arriving ready with a bow saw and headlamp; check which tools and refreshments have been renewed rather than relying on those older inclusions.
The lot's lights, music and open farmland views make a useful alternative to a mountain drive. Dogs are welcome on a leash; clean up after them. Santa and an elf may visit on weekends, but their appearances are tentative, so check CreekSide's own updates before making that the reason for your visit.
Go to the Niwot lot for Christmas trees. The Boulder nursery's appointment-only arrangements are for its separate nursery location and do not turn the Christmas lot into a reservation-only visit.

Plan the format before arriving
For the field experience, start with the tree-type explanation so everyone understands that the tree was already harvested before being placed in the field. You can choose from the same listed firs and pines as the fresh-cut display, with individual tree tags determining the price. Plan enough time within the lot’s closing hours if you want to see the lights after dark.
A living tree needs a different plan: the pot adds both height and weight, and the tree must transition back outside after its limited indoor stay. Ask staff about the particular variety, the handling needed and the conditions for planting it later.
