Tree City is a pre-cut lot at Vitense Golfland near Whitney Way and the Beltline. Its trees come from the Black River Falls area, with Fraser and Balsam fir and Scotch and White pine in roughly 3–11-foot sizes. There is one Tree City lot and no cut-your-own location.
Every tree has an individual price based on type and height. The listed average per-foot ranges help compare choices: Fraser $11.50–$12.50, Balsam $10.50–$11.50 and pine $7.50–$8.50, plus 5.5% sales tax. Fraser offers stronger branches, Balsam a fuller fragrance and the pines a longer-needled option.

Full service after you choose
Staff carry the tree to the processing table, make a fresh cut, wrap it and load it into or onto your vehicle. Twine and bungee cords are supplied at no charge. There is no shaker onsite; some trees are shaken before reaching the lot.
If the tree will go into water within an hour or two, have the fresh cut made at the lot. Otherwise, make a fresh cut yourself before placing it in water at home. Stands, removal bags and wreath hooks can be requested at the sales window.
After you have chosen a tree, the operator estimates about 10–15 minutes for the fresh cut, netting and loading while you pay. That estimate covers tree preparation, rather than the time you spend comparing the display. Keep winter footing in mind: the lot uses ice melt, but icy conditions can still occur.
Wreaths, roping and winter visits
The holiday selection includes Fraser roping, bough bundles, swags, decorative tins and wreaths from about 12 inches to 40–42 inches across. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a leash.
The lot opens November 25 and continues through December 23 or until sold out. Most days run into the evening, but Wednesdays and Thanksgiving close at 5pm. During a major snowstorm, trees may be moved temporarily while the lot is shoveled, reducing the display until clearing is complete.
