Whispering Pines Tree Farm
Whispering Pines pairs a large choose-and-cut field with precut trees at the lodge, a holiday shop and train-themed field transport. Balsam fir, Fraser fir, spruce and White pine give families several tree choices, while the heated lodge and complimentary cocoa provide a place to warm up afterwards.

The farm visit.
From the field to the baling station
Wagons transport visitors and a supplied handsaw to the appropriate tree field, then bring the family and tree back to the lodge. The brightly coloured Whispering Pines Express trains run on weekends after Thanksgiving. Precut trees near the lodge are another option if you prefer to choose without cutting.
At unloading, an attendant tags the tree and gives you a matching numbered ticket. Pay inside or at the outdoor window, then use the cashier’s proof of purchase to collect the tree at the baling station. Shaking and baling are available; twine is provided for the journey home.
The farm accepts cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Handsaws are supplied. Battery-powered chainsaws are permitted under the FAQ; gas-powered chainsaws are prohibited.
The Oconto field’s opening needs confirmation before an early-November trip: the homepage advertises November 2, while the tree page says the day after Thanksgiving. Daily visiting hours are 9am–4:30pm. The De Pere precut lot has different hours and is a separate destination.

Holiday shop, cocoa and seasonal attractions
The heated lodge and holiday shop carry ornaments, gifts, jams, gourmet treats and fresh greenery made on site. Wreaths, garland, kissing balls, swags and crests let you finish more of the decorating in one stop. Complimentary hot cocoa is offered, and Freedom Foods serves food on weekends.
A life-size talking and singing reindeer is an interactive attraction. Professional photographs with Santa take place in Santa’s Workshop on announced dates; they are a separate scheduled visit rather than an everyday promise. Check the farm’s current event notice for Santa, visiting Highland cows and special food events.
Before you go.
- Confirm the Oconto field opening before an early-November visit; the operator’s opening notices conflict.
- No gas chainsaws; only battery-powered chainsaws are permitted.
- Use the numbered ticket and cashier’s proof of purchase to collect your tree.
