Match the tree to the space

The field choices make species and height part of the same decision: choose spruce up to eight feet, fir up to seven feet, or the published pine sizes. If you want a taller Fraser fir, the farm brings premium pre-cuts from Black River Falls shortly before Thanksgiving. Those are a separate selection with a price range rather than the field-tree prices.

Cutting and getting home

Hand saws are provided, and you may bring your own. Baling is available on weekends and the Friday after Thanksgiving; do not assume it is offered on an ordinary weekday. Twine is supplied for securing the tree to a vehicle or trailer. Cash and checks are the accepted payment methods.

A weekend warm-up

Hot chocolate, hot apple cider and cookies are available during weekend opening hours. Plan around that narrower schedule if refreshments are part of the outing. The farm’s detailed FAQ gives the selling season as the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve, with daily hours of 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
