Choose your Christmas tree.
Smiling John’s offers three ways to choose a tree: cut it yourself, select a tree for staff cutting, or pick from the fresh-cut selection. Varieties include balsam, Fraser and Canaan fir and white pine.
Shaking and baling are available after selection. If you plan to use the staff-cutting option, ask how that service is arranged and what assistance will be available on your chosen day.

The farm visit.
Wreaths and refreshments
Wreaths, kissing balls and handcrafted decorations accompany the tree selection. The warming station offers hot cocoa and cookies, and a sleigh provides a family photograph setting. Cash and good checks are accepted under the published selling arrangements.

The published season uses Friday–Sunday hours of 8am–4pm. Check the operator’s latest opening and closing notice before visiting.
