The farm visit.
Fresh green or flocked
Choose a traditional green Christmas tree or discuss a flocked finish with the greenhouse. Custom color flocking and home delivery and setup are advertised services. They are arrangements to price and book with the operator, not services automatically included in a tree’s marked price.
Fresh holiday decorations
Handmade wreaths, garland, swags, kissing balls and porch pots are offered alongside poinsettias grown on site. Call to discuss a custom container, wreath or larger decorating project; holiday and event decorating is a separate service.
Time the train visit
The KFH Legacy Train display occupies the House of Blooms, with passenger, freight, diesel, steam and cogwheel trains on sixteen tracks through a 4,800-square-foot setting. Trains run Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m.–3 p.m.; the permanent layout can also be viewed when the trains are not running. Tables and chairs provide places to pause during a train visit.
The greenhouse itself opens Monday–Saturday 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Plan within the shorter running hours if moving trains are important to the outing, and confirm seasonal operation before a special trip.
Workshops have their own calendar and arrangements. General greenhouse access does not establish that a workshop or decorating service is included with a Christmas-tree purchase.
Children’s Christmas party
The November 21 children’s Christmas party runs 10 a.m.–3 p.m., with free admission, holiday trains, food, music, crafts, activities and games. Santa’s visiting time is still to be announced; food availability does not establish that every purchase is free.
The historic Kooky Cooky House opens the same day, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., with free admission. Its cookie-production display is separate from the gingerbread cookies, clothing and coloring books offered for purchase. Confirm later-season visiting hours for the display.
Inside the Kooky Cooky House, a life-size animated cookie factory has gingerbread workers, moving dough-making devices and a conveyor leading to an oven. Vintage English and German Christmas displays share its holiday home. This is a display to watch; it does not mean that the cookies and merchandise for sale are included with admission.
Make your own winter arrangement
Workshop places must be reserved by calling the greenhouse. Bring gloves and pruners; the porch-pot sessions supply greens, decorations and instruction, and private classes can be discussed for groups of ten or more. The oval-basket session asks you to bring gloves and pruners or buy them there.
The November 14 and 15 porch-pot classes are marked sold out. An added $50 porch-pot listing gives November 21, 2–3:30 p.m., but its weekday wording conflicts with that date; confirm the actual session and availability before registering.
| Workshop and time | Charge and condition |
|---|---|
| November 14 porch pot, 10:30–11:30 a.m. | $50; listed SLGC rate $45; sold out |
| November 15 porch pot, 2–3:30 p.m. | $50; sold out |
| November 21 oval basket, 2–3:30 p.m. | $35; call to register; bring gloves and pruners |
| Added porch pot, posted November 21, 2–3:30 p.m. | $50; date/weekday conflict; call to confirm before booking |
Other holiday event days
The November 28 homemade Christmas-cookie sale runs 10 a.m.–3 p.m. and is sponsored by St. John’s Anglican Church. A German Poinsettia Party follows December 5, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., with German cookies, crafts and music and free admission. These have their own dates and should not be assumed available during every tree-shopping visit.
