Choose your Christmas tree.
A & A grows Leyland and Murray cypress and white pine for choose-and-cut. The farm describes the cypress as having little scent and small needles, with heavier ornaments set deeper in the tree and little needed beyond lights. It describes white pine as a real Lowcountry Christmas tree with a soft pine scent, sturdy branches, long needles and natural spacing.
Pre-cut Fraser fir is shipped in from a farm in the mountains of North Carolina and kept in fresh water, including the trees that are not on display. For cutting your own, the farm provides saws and carts, then shakes out loose needles, bales the tree and ties it to your roof with twine or loads it into your truck. It does not publish tree heights or whether handling has a charge, so ask when you choose.

Choose-and-cut cypress and white pine

Tree prices are not published; confirm at the farm before you cut. The farm also does not say whether shaking, baling and loading carry a charge, or whether staff will cut a tree for you.

Pre-cut Fraser fir
The farm sells pre-cut Fraser fir shipped in from a farm in the mountains of North Carolina. It gets the trees into water quickly, and even the trees that are not on display are stored in fresh water.
The farm does not publish Fraser sizes. These are shipped-in trees, separate from the cypress and pine grown on the farm.
Choosing a size, cutting and caring for the tree
The farm says every tree is measured to be just above the height marked on its tag. It suggests adding a few inches for the stand and choosing a tree at least a half foot shorter than your ceiling.
To cut, get as close to the ground as you can; most stands need 6 to 8 inches of trunk. Have someone pull lightly on the opposite side so the saw does not bind.
Get the tree into water within an hour of cutting, or recut about a quarter inch off the bottom. Check the water daily, and twice a day during the first week.
Wreaths, garland and decorations
The farm carries wreaths made from Fraser fir branches in sizes from 18 inches to 46 inches. They are decorated with pine cones and ribbons, plain, or in unique designs decorated by Dianne and Anne. Garland, swags and mailbox toppers are also listed, described as a centerpiece, something different for your door, or garland to string around a fireplace.
Keep a wreath out of direct sun and heat and mist it lightly with water.

Opening day, hours and the last arrival time
The farm says it opens the day after Thanksgiving, which is Friday, November 27 this year. Its home page lists every day from Monday to Sunday as 10am to 5:30pm and asks you to arrive by 4:30pm so there is enough time and daylight to select a tree.
A state agriculture directory entry lists the same opening day, an end date of December 19 and daily hours of 10am to 5:30pm, and says to contact the farm for specific dates. The farm’s own page gives no closing date or weather rule and does not say which season it is written for, so confirm before a late-season drive.
