Choose your Christmas tree.

Douglas fir is the main Christmas variety, with Fraser fir, Blue spruce, Canaan fir and Concolor fir in limited supply. Balled live trees are also offered in limited supply. Christmas trees use a per-foot price basis; confirm the rate for the variety and format you choose before cutting.

For a softer-needled tree, Douglas fir has green to blue-green foliage and a sweet fragrance; Fraser fir has upward-turning branches and good needle retention. Blue spruce has sturdy form and pointed needles. These variety descriptions help you compare the announced choices without promising what remains in the field.

The farm visit.

Choose the visit that fits your day

Miller’s provides handsaws for field cutting, but the cut-your-own part of the visit must happen before 4:30pm. For a later stop, fresh pre-cut trees are available during business hours, with evening lights around the display. This listing is for the Elizabethtown farm; Miller’s also has a separate wholesale-only location near Bernville.

Help preparing your tree for home

Tree drilling, shaking and baling are offered at no extra charge. Shaking clears loose material, while baling draws the branches together for the journey home. Large trees may not fit through the baler. Tree stands are available, including Stand Straight pin stands for which the farm drills the trunk. Balled trees and loading help are also offered.

Wreaths, greens and handmade gifts

Made-to-order wreaths and garland can combine fresh greens with boxwood, golden cypress, juniper, holly, cedar and pinecones, with bows available too. Garlands can be plain or mixed, with prices marked on the selection. Swags, bundles of greenery and wreath stands give you other ways to decorate. Arrange special orders and a pickup time with the farm; Elizabethtown is one of the pickup locations.

The gift shop also offers handmade ornaments and earrings by Leigh, gnomes, stockings, tree skirts, stocking holders and bows. Complimentary candy canes and coloring books give children something of their own to enjoy. Children are invited to bring letters to Santa; that invitation does not set an appearance time.

Food vendors and Amish baked goods

Local vendors add something to eat or drink to the tree-shopping outing. The farm’s food program has included cold-brew drinks and homemade chili, burgers and fries, warm and stuffed pretzels, cupcakes and warm drinks. Individual truck appearances follow their own calendar, so check the Food Trucks & Events page before planning around a particular vendor. Amish baked goods are offered on Saturdays and Black Friday; bring cash for those purchases.

Tag early and pay at Elizabethtown

Tree tagging begins October 31. At the Elizabethtown location, cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. The farm’s pricing page lists Christmas trees by the foot, so confirm the rate for your chosen variety before cutting.

Farm hats, shirts and sweatshirts

Farm merchandise provides another small souvenir of the trip. Beanies, T-shirts and crewneck sweatshirts are offered through the online shop, along with dishwasher-safe farm stickers. Crewneck sweatshirts offer S, M, L and XL size choices; check the product options for colors when ordering.
