Choose your Christmas tree.

The daily pre-cut tree lot offers Canaan, Fraser, Concolor and Douglas fir, plus Colorado blue spruce. The farm describes a broader Christmas-tree size range from tabletop trees to 13ft; check the particular variety and format when choosing a size.

Field trees average 6–8ft. Canaan fir is listed for daily cutting and Colorado spruce for weekends. Check the farm’s field choices before travelling, especially for Fraser or Concolor fir, and confirm field access if you plan to cut on a weekday.

Live, balled-and-burlapped trees are sold in 3–5ft sizes. The listed choices include Canaan and Concolor fir, White pine, Norway spruce, Colorado spruce, Serbian spruce and Black Hills spruce. These retain their root ball for planting rather than being cut at the trunk.

Canaan fir has fragrant, rigid blue-green needles about ½–1 inch long and good needle retention. Fraser has short, soft dark-green needles with blue undersides and strong branches for ornaments; the pre-cut lot is one place to choose it.

Concolor’s soft needles are about 2–3 inches long, with a silvery-blue to blue-green color and an orange or tangerine scent. It retains its needles well and has strong branches for heavier ornaments. Colorado blue spruce has stiffer, pricklier needles about an inch long and a blue-green color.

Among the live-tree choices, White pine has soft needles and little fragrance, but its branches are less suited to heavy ornaments. Norway spruce has weaker needle retention, so the farm recommends buying it closer to Christmas.

The farm visit.

Prepay, borrow a saw and ride to the field

At arrival, prepay for your field tree, choose a variety and collect a saw. For a wagon trip into the fields, plan for weekend service and arrive before the last cutting wagon at 4:30pm. Check field access before planning a weekday cutting visit.

Cut your tree with the supplied saw, then carry it to the nearest wagon stop. Ride back to the farm and gift shop with your tree and unload it on arrival. The tree is shaken to remove loose needles and wrapped for transport.

You then tie and secure the tree to your vehicle before leaving. Tree bags are sold to help with roof transport. Allow time for the return trip and tree preparation before the farm’s 6pm closing time.

A pre-cut tree or a tree to plant

The pre-cut lot gives you a shorter shopping route if you prefer to choose a ready-cut tree. A live tree is a different option for a household that wants to plant it after Christmas; ask the farm about the size and variety before arranging transport.

Gift shop and snack-shack dates

The daily Christmas gift shop sells handmade ornaments, wreaths and other gifts. A separate open-house weekend is listed for November 22–23, 10am–3pm, before tree selling begins.

The snack shack opens November 28–30 and on subsequent weekends through December 20. Amish donuts, pizza and kettle corn have their own dates below, so a weekday tree visit does not bring the full weekend food offer.
