Tagging is an earlier selection visit; return on a selling day to cut your tree.
Choose your Christmas tree.
The announced selection reaches up to 10ft for Fraser fir, 8ft for Douglas fir, Concolor fir and Blue spruce, and 7ft for Nordmann fir. Trees over 7½ft tend to sell quickly after opening day, so the largest sizes depend on what remains when you visit. The announced Christmas offer is cut-your-own only.
Fraser fir has soft green needles with silvery undersides and sturdy, slightly upward branches. Douglas fir offers lush blue-green foliage and good needle retention. Concolor fir has soft, longer silvery-blue needles and a citrus scent, while Blue spruce has firmer pointed needles and strong branches. Nordmann fir is also in the announced selection.

The farm visit.
Choose early, then return to cut
You can tag a tree on the six announced November tagging days. The farm supplies a sold tag for your name and phone number; bring a ribbon of your own to make the tree easier to recognize when you return. Tagging runs 9am–3pm, while the five selling days run 9am–5pm.
A little help through the fields
Blue Ridge supplies a handsaw, farm map and tree cart free of charge. The farm also describes child-sized “kids saws” among its equipment. Use the map to explore the fields and the cart to bring your chosen tree back. All Christmas trees sold by the farm are grown there.
Free shaking removes loose material, baling makes transport and setup easier, and drilling prepares the trunk for a Stand Straight pin stand. These services do not add a separate processing charge to the per-foot tree price.
Warm up in the gift shop
The heated gift shop has wreaths and other seasonal goods, with tree stands and bags also available. Free candy canes give children a small Christmas treat. Bring cash for your tree purchase; an ATM is available in the shop.
Parking, restrooms and arrival
A gravel parking area and restrooms make the practical side of the outing easier. The visitor address is 1063 School House Road. The farm’s directions approach School House Road from Old Jonestown Road, with the farm about half a mile along on the right.
