Choose your Christmas tree.
Merrywood prices each tree by variety and grade rather than a simple per-foot formula. Colored ribbons identify the price; consult the charts at the tent before choosing. Most trees are $30–$100, with premium trees higher; Noble firs start at $50 and are pre-cut from higher-elevation fields.
The farm compares cultured and natural Noble shapes, fragrant Grand firs, fuller or natural Douglas firs and Nordmann firs. U-cut stock is supplemented with fresh pre-cuts from nearby fields, restocked through the week; the season can end when the ready-cut stock sells out to protect the field crop. Sequoia, White pine, Silver fir, Turkish fir and Spruce may also be available in limited supply; ask before relying on one of these less-common choices.
If you need a tall tree for a vaulted ceiling, the operator recommends reserving early because the large trees go quickly; it does not publish a fixed maximum height.

The ribbon route from tree to car
Once you have chosen, bring the pricing ribbon to the cashier. You will receive a checkout ribbon to tie on the tree so outdoor staff can see it has been paid for. Hand saws are provided, though bringing your own can help when all loaners are in the field.
Twine is available but the farm does not have a baler. Cash and checks are preferred because Wi Fi is unreliable; cards can be run when needed. Wear boots and watch for slippery ground and stumps; the pre-cut area is less muddy than the fields.
Pony rides, cider and the old barn
Complimentary hot cider and a warm fire add to the Christmas visit. On weekends after Thanksgiving, pony rides are a perk for customers’ children under 100 pounds, not a general public attraction. Parents must lift their child into the saddle and support them as needed; rides are at the rider’s risk.
The restored family barn houses antique farm equipment and opens for touring during tree season. A handmade large-scale diorama changes each year, and wreaths, mixed greenery, pinecone ornaments and twig stars add to the shopping. Dogs cannot enter the grounds under the farm’s insurance policy.

Arrange an early visit
Early tree shopping is by email or Facebook Messenger appointment. Email merrywoodfarm@gmail.com or use the operator’s linked Facebook page for a quicker reply. During busy visitor hours phone calls often go unanswered; voicemail is returned as time allows.
The neighboring Christopher Bridge Cellars tasting room is a separate outing. Check the winery’s own arrangements rather than treating tasting as part of a Merrywood tree purchase.
