The farm visit.
Cutting, carts and tree preparation
Hand saws and tree carts are available. Powered chain saws, including battery and electric saws, are prohibited. Complimentary shaking and baling make the tree easier to take home; drilling for a pin stand is available on request. Fresh-cut trees also receive a fresh trunk cut.
Tree and gift-shop purchases can be paid by cash or credit card. The racks are restocked while supplies last; allow time to select your tree before the 4:15pm field-entry cutoff.
The gift shop and a book for the children
Warm up among handmade wreaths, freshly cut greens, ornaments and holiday decorations. Local artisans supply gifts for the shop, and each child may choose a complimentary book to take home.
Horse-drawn wagon rides
The posted scenic rides run December 6 and 13, 10am–2pm. Whitney Hill Farm’s wooden wagon takes 10–12 passengers on a roughly 20-minute tour of the tree fields. No advance reservation is required.
Rides cost $10 per person, paid in cash; children 3 and under ride free. Dogs and other animals cannot ride. Poor weather cancels the rides, so check the farm’s announcements before coming for this activity.
Seasonal drinks and holiday photographs
The posted 3B’s Beverage Trailer dates are November 28–30, December 6–7 and December 13, 9am–4:30pm, with hot chocolate, spiced cider and cold drinks for purchase.
Optimum Influence Media’s posted walk-in holiday sessions offer five edited images in an online gallery for $125. Sets include a rustic indoor scene, Christmas arch and tree-field backdrop.
