Choose your Christmas tree.

Fraser firs are offered in the choose-and-cut plantation and in the pre-cut area. Read the tag on each tree for its approximate height and exact price before choosing. Ask a worker in red for a borrowed saw, help cutting, or assistance taking a pre-cut tree off its post.

Opening weekend reservations

Book one reservation per tree for November 28–29; buying two trees needs two bookings. The $40 reservation payment is credited toward one tree, with an additional service fee. Bring the confirmation on your phone or on paper, and have the whole party together at check-. The farm places no separate limit on people or cars per tree.

The seasonal reservation release is announced through the Christmas page. Cancellations more than 48 hours before the visit are refundable less an $8 administration fee; later cancellations are not refundable. Rescheduling is allowed until 48 hours before the slot, using the confirmation email, and costs $8.

If you cannot find the size or height you need, visit the red Farm Market before leaving to request the $40 refund. The farm does not honor that request after departure. Farm Market and bakery visits need no tree reservation.

From the field to the loading area

Park in the first lot on the right and check in at the fence just beyond the winery. Keep the lower part of your chosen tree’s tag and leave the matching part on the branch. A worker can help with cutting; for a pre-cut tree, ask the crew to take it off the stake.

Get a field tree onto the tractor wagon before walking back to the shops. The wagon carries trees, rather than visitors. In the pre-cut area, make sure a worker has taken the tree to the preparation area before you leave it. Pay for the tree in the Farm Market while the crew shakes and nets it.

After payment, bring the car and paid ticket to the loading area. Ask for a fresh stump cut or branch removal there. Staff can help tie the tree to the roof, or you can secure it yourself. Bring your own rope if you have it; the farm can provide some when needed.

At home, give the trunk a fresh cut before putting the tree in its stand. Keep the stand filled with water, especially during the first 72 hours, and place the tree away from heat sources.

Hot cider, bakery treats and fresh decorations

A free cup of hot apple cider comes with each tree purchase. Stop at the bakery while the tree is being prepared, where apple-cider doughnuts, pies, cookies, strudel sticks, brownies and muffins are sold alongside other sweets.

Browse wreaths and roping, tree stands, decorations and gift baskets in the Apple Farm Market. The Country Market adds Christmas ornaments, holiday crafts and gifts. The shops are posted open 10am–5pm on tree-selling days.

For bakery pickups, email the farm at least 48 hours ahead with your name, phone number and desired pickup day and time; wait for the farm to confirm the order. Christmas pies need at least a week’s notice. The online Christmas pie form is announced for early December, with pickups usually ending December 23; confirm the pickup arrangements with the farm.

Comfortable field visits and family photographs

Dress for the weather, with closed-toe shoes, tall socks and long pants for uneven farm ground. Pets must stay home; individually trained service dogs are welcome. The farm accepts cash and most major credit cards, with a suggested $10 card minimum.

Take family photographs while choosing your tree. Professional photographers cannot work in the Christmas tree area during tree selection; separate photography visits need arrangements with the farm. Outside food and drinks are not permitted at the picnic tables, which are for food bought on the farm.

Arriving by train and taxi

The farm describes a public-transport route using the Metro-North Hudson Line to Croton-Harmon or Peekskill, followed by a taxi or rideshare trip of about 15 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you at the Red Barn Loop, and arrange the return trip before visiting.
