The farm visit.

Compare the three firs

The farm’s guide distinguishes these choices by scent, foliage and room for decorations. Needle retention still depends on the individual tree and its care.

The farm’s fresh-cut fir comparison
FirUseful differences
Fraser firFragrant blue-silver needles around an inch long, with depth and space between branches for hanging decorations; the farm describes excellent needle retention.
Balsam firThe strongest fragrance in the farm’s comparison. Shorter needles leave ornaments visible, with a traditional shape and good retention.
Douglas firSofter, longer yellow-green needles and a fuller shape, with less scent than the other two. Dense growth suits decorating the outer branches; the farm describes excellent retention.

Food from the farm market

The market has bakery goods, hot drinks and prepared foods for a refreshment stop alongside tree shopping. Fall hayrides, mazes and picking attractions have separate seasons and admission, so they should not be treated as part of this Christmas-tree visit.

Payment and visitor rules

A 3% pass-through fee applies to credit-card payments under the farm’s current policy. Outside food, beverages and coolers are not permitted, and the premises are smoke-free. Pets stay home except for service animals under the operator’s stated policy. Follow the operator’s Route 202 approach from Interstate 287 exit 30B to the Mount Kemble Avenue location.
