Choose your Christmas tree.
The Christmas-tree plantation is part of Saint Paul’s Abbey, where evergreen growing reaches back to the monastery’s early years. Its fields hold Colorado and Norway spruce, Douglas, concolor, Canaan, Korean and Nikko fir, and white pine, giving visitors a broad set of shapes and foliage to consider. The brothers describe using organic growing methods.
Choose-and-cut and grower-cut trees are listed. Borrow a hand saw and return it after use; the association also lists permission to bring your own. The printed farm rules prohibit digging trees. Confirm the current cutting and stock arrangements before visiting.

The plantation approach and field rules
The printed map marks P1, a cashier and the gift shop on the monastery side of Route 206. P2 and another cashier are across Route 206 beside the fields, reached through the marked plantation entrance. Follow current farm signs for the parking area and sales point you need.
Keep cars in designated parking areas and watch for holes and stumps in the fields. Cut only the Christmas-field trees, not ornamental trees beside roads or buildings. Trees may not be dug.
The abbey gift shop
The abbey also has a gift shop with religious articles and books. It is a separate stop from the tree fields, with its own availability; tree-shopping hours do not establish that the shop is open.
