The farm visit.
Choose the species and check the height
The farm describes Fraser fir as narrower, with sturdy branches and two-tone needles. Douglas fir is fuller and wider, with soft foliage, a citrus-pine fragrance and branches suited to most ornaments. White fir, also called concolor, has long, upward-growing needles and a lemon-pine fragrance.
For heavier ornaments, the farm points to blue spruce’s strong branches, while warning that its needles are particularly sharp. Norway spruce offers sturdy ornament support too, with branches described as stronger than the firs but less rigid than blue spruce.
Fraser fir is specifically marked limited, with no large sizes. The displayed choose-and-cut price is $85 through nine feet and $150 above nine feet; confirm the actual height and remaining stock before making a trip for a taller tree.
From the field to your vehicle
Borrow a saw or ask the crew to cut your selected tree. The service list includes bringing it to the front of the farm, squaring or shaping the trunk for the stand, netting or hand wrapping large trees, and carrying and securing it to the vehicle with sisal twine. These services are advertised free of charge.
Choose the stand and transport arrangements for your tree before leaving. Field and precut stock are distinct; precuts are available only while supplies last.
Wreaths and finishing touches
Decorated and plain wreaths, tree-removal bags and local honey are among the finishing touches. Cinco stands are offered in three sizes for trees up to eight, ten or twelve feet. Watering Elf funnels help you add water without crawling underneath the branches.
Charity collections, canine meet-and-greets and food trucks have appeared in an earlier season’s event announcements. Check current notices for any return; they are not established everyday tree-visit amenities.
