The farm visit.
Choosing a tree and fresh wreath
There are two ways to choose here: browse premium pre-cut Fraser firs, or check the limited supply of choose-and-cut trees in the fields. The posted size range is 6–10 ft, and Scotch pine also appears among the farm’s tree choices. Handmade fresh wreaths are sold alongside the trees.
Give the farm a quick check before setting out for a field tree. The limited field selection and the farm’s previous sellout make it sensible to confirm the current offering rather than count on a particular size or variety.
The handmade Christmas craft barn
Leave a little time for the Christmas craft barn. Its market features handmade work from local artisans, including wood crafts, decorative and fresh wreaths, floral arrangements, carved canes and figurines, ornaments, soy candles, earrings, crochet pieces and holiday home décor. Homemade zucchini bread and local honey are among the food gifts listed.
The Gubsers describe a gathering of about 15–20 local crafters, giving the barn a different purpose from simply collecting a tree. It is a place to browse for small gifts and decorations during the Christmas visit.
Following Lower Grandview Road
From the AA Highway, take Route 1997 and turn onto Lower Grandview Road; the farm is at the end of the road. Bring cash or a credit card, with the $10 card minimum in mind. The short 10 a.m.–3 p.m. selling window belongs to the posted calendar.
