The farm visit.

Preparing your tree

Staff shake and fresh-cut trees, supply rope and help secure your tree to your vehicle. Optional baling costs $2. Reusable stands are sold, with trunk drilling and installation offered; bring a purchased stand back for fitting a new tree. Heavy-duty stands suit the large Fraser firs. Personal chainsaws are allowed entirely at the user’s risk.

A little more Christmas

Grandma’s Shoppe opens daily with bows, ornaments, decorations and farm shirts. The petting zoo is also open daily, with animals including goats, rabbits, chickens, pigs and a donkey. Weekend concessions include boiled peanuts, cocoa, cider, barbecue sandwiches, nachos, popcorn and drinks. Weekend hayrides travel through a tunnel of lights for $2 per person.

Santa Mac

Family photographs with Santa cost $15; bring your own camera. Santa appears November 27–29 and December 6 and 12, 10am–5pm; December 5, 11am–4:30pm; and December 13, 11am–5pm. No appointment is required.

School field trips

Booked Christmas field trips include tree education, animals, reindeer games and a hayride through the lights. Each student takes home a miniature tree. The price is $12 per person, including parents and siblings; teachers are free. The farm lists a minimum of 10 paying students and a $100 minimum payment, so confirm the group total when arranging a visit.

Expect about 1½–2 hours; all field-trip areas close at 1:30pm. Groups meet under the Fraser barn. Student payments should be combined into one transaction before the trip; parent and sibling tickets can be bought online when school collection is unavailable. The booking section accepts cash, check or cards, while its Q&A asks for cash or check—confirm the payment method when booking. One reschedule is free; further changes cost $20 unless weather causes cancellation, and cancellation carries a $100 fee.

Picnic tables are uncovered and must be requested ahead. Bring packed lunches, water and trash bags and divide larger classes into groups of 30–35. Leah McLanahan handles school arrangements at 706-818-4383.

Photography sessions

Professional sessions are separate from ordinary family snapshots: one hour costs $25 cash or $30 by card. Pay at Grandma’s Shoppe or online and bring proof of payment. Work during normal business hours and avoid blocking visitors, vehicles and shopping areas. Outside-hours access needs prior arrangements with Damon at 706-474-2554, by call or text.

Before you go.

  • Credit and debit cards carry a service charge; the published amount is not specified.
  • Visitors living at least 30 miles away can receive $5 off a tree with proof of residence and the farm’s printed coupon.
  • Select your tree at the farm before arranging delivery. Delivery cost depends on distance; after-Christmas pickup costs $100 per tree, payable by cash or check.
