Weekend outing

Field trees are $148 plus 6.35% tax; precuts start at $148 plus tax. Free weekend hayrides. Parking is $20 per car per visit without a tree or wreath purchase.

Weekday tree trip

$30 off all trees, with no parking fee. Weekend hayrides are a separate offering; staff tie-on is best effort.

Maple Row’s visitor entrance is 555 North Park Avenue; 229 Stepney Road is its mulch yard and mailing address. The farm offers choose-and-cut and precut trees, with balsam, Canaan, concolor, Douglas and Fraser fir; blue, Norway and white spruce; and white pine. Availability varies across the fields. No dug trees are offered.

Weekends, including Black Friday, the posted field-tree price is $148 plus 6.35% Connecticut sales tax; precuts start at $148 plus the same tax. All trees receive a $30 weekday discount. Handsaws are provided, and tree wrapping is complimentary. Visitors cannot use powered cutting equipment. Bring boots for wet outdoor walking; precuts give an alternative to searching the fields.

No reservations are required for the published choose-and-cut visit. Check the current selling days and remaining selection before travelling.

Choosing among nine varieties

For heavier decorations, concolor fir and the spruces offer strong branches; white pine’s lighter branches suit lighter ornaments. Firs and pines generally retain their needles longer than spruces, making a fresh cut and consistent watering especially useful for a spruce. Check the day’s selection if one variety is essential.

Prices and parking

The price panel charges $20 per car per visit on weekends without a tree or wreath purchase; there is no weekday parking fee. Another FAQ uses the broader phrase “farm purchase”, so ask whether an accessory-only purchase qualifies before counting on a waiver. Cash, most major cards and digital payments are accepted; checks are not.

Hayrides, greenery and gathering

Free weekend hayrides, visits with the farm’s ox teams, wreaths, boughs, ornaments, cocoa and snacks accompany the tree season. Refreshment prices are not stated. Tailgating is allowed, but groups should arrive together: parking is assigned in arrival order, with no saved extra spaces or tents.

Dogs must stay leashed. Twine is provided, but staff cannot tie trees onto cars during busy weekends; weekday help is best effort. Come prepared to secure the tree yourself.

Tree care and the return condition

The farm guarantees cut-tree freshness. Its detailed terms require proof of purchase and at least the top 3 feet of the tree returned before Christmas for an exchange or credit; the FAQ also describes a certificate for the following year. Contact the farm about a problem rather than assuming a cash refund. Keep the stand watered and make a fresh base cut before setup.
