Harvest a field tree
Fraser fir and Colorado blue spruce are published, with saws supplied and wrapping available.
Choose a living tree
Earlier farm advertising lists living fir and spruce from 2 feet upward. Confirm the actual tree, care, transport and planting plan.
Evergreen Acres offers a choice between harvesting a tree from its Colchester fields and buying a living tree to plant after Christmas. The field selection is Fraser fir and Colorado blue spruce, with saws supplied and wrapping available. Previously published farm advertisements describe free baling; ask which trees are ready to cut and which living sizes are available before choosing.
The living-tree offering is separate from the cut-tree visit. Earlier farm advertisements describe living spruce and fir from two feet upward for planting after Christmas. Ask the farm about the available species and sizes, the price and how to acclimatize and care for the particular tree before planting; a living tree should not be treated as a cut tree that can stay indoors indefinitely.
Tree tagging is also advertised. Ask the farm when tagging is available, whether there is a fee and how the tree is cut and collected.
Published varieties
- Fraser fir
- Colorado blue spruce
Which variety suits your decorations?
General tree guidance; the farm’s selection, sizes and services are described above.
- Fraser fir
- Upward branches and good needle retention; firmer branches can suit heavier ornaments.
- Blue spruce
- Blue to silver-blue foliage with sharp needle tips.

Greenery and a warm weekend stop
Handmade wreaths, handcrafted gift-shop items and carved decorative decoys extend the visit beyond the fields. Earlier farm advertisements describe Colorado spruce wreaths from 24 to 50 inches. Choose the actual item and confirm its price rather than applying a tree price to the shop.
Weekend hot chocolate is described as free, and tourism material also mentions lollipops for children. Santa visits are advertised, but check the actual appearance dates before planning a trip around one.
Plan your Colchester visit
Credit cards are accepted and restrooms are available. The published association schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 9am–4pm; an older farm advertisement extends closing to dark. Use the earlier closing time when planning and confirm access before travelling.
