Busy Acres’ posted choose-and-cut tree price is $90 including Connecticut sales tax; netting is $10 extra. Cash or personal checks are accepted, with no credit or debit cards. Tagging is not offered. Checks must carry your address and phone number; the FAQ posts a $25 fee for returned checks.
The operator lists Fraser and concolor fir, blue spruce and Norway spruce, while the published guide adds Serbian spruce and a similar precut selection. Confirm the current species and precut stock before travelling. The published guide describes trees around 6–12 feet. The operator FAQ also describes trees 12 feet or taller, warning that very tall trees are extremely heavy: bring enough helpers and a vehicle that can safely carry your choice.
Handsaws and twine are supplied, and the farm has 60 tree carts to help move a tree from field to vehicle. Come prepared to secure the tree yourself and ask about any staff cutting/loading help you require. The farm says it does not spray pesticides; no certification claim is made. Netting fits most sizes, but some very large trees cannot go through the netter; ask at the netting station.

Hours, greenery and visitor rules
Opening Friday after Thanksgiving runs 9am–3:30pm. Regular Wednesday–Friday hours are noon–3:30pm and weekends 9am–3:30pm, with Monday and Tuesday closed. No shoppers enter the gate after 3:30pm; check ahead in bad weather.
Wreaths and swags are made at the farm, with a gift shop, restrooms and ample parking listed in the published guide. No tailgating is allowed. The operator’s FAQ says dogs are not allowed; ask about any specific access need before visiting. The farm sells no food or refreshments and does not allow picnic gatherings.
Contact the farm at 203-695-4785 or acalabrese@charter.net for the remaining tree selection and bad-weather opening. If storing the tree before decorating, the farm advises keeping it sheltered from sun and wind in water, making a fresh quarter-inch base cut for the stand and checking water daily.
