Choose your Christmas tree.
Family Christmas Tree Farm has been run by the Stokes family since 1972 and calls its selection the largest in San Diego. Its fields grow Monterey pine, which you choose and cut yourself, and the farm’s About page also names Leyland cypress as a second field species; the online shop lists only Monterey pine for choose-and-cut, so ask which trees are in the field.
Pre-cut firs from the Pacific Northwest (Noble, Nordmann and Douglas, with Fraser on its own product page) stand already cut in stands in the main field, in sizes up to 13 feet. Trees can be snow-flocked, and the farm sells stands, preservative and disposal bags separately.
The farm provides everything needed to cut a tree. It supplies twine free of charge to tie the tree down yourself; staff do not tie trees to vehicles, for liability reasons, and every trunk is freshly cut before the tree leaves the farm.

The home page banner still announces the pumpkin patch (September 25 to October 31). That season, with its own admission and pumpkin prices, is over and is not part of a Christmas tree visit.
