Christmas tree farm guide
Christmas tree farms in Illinois.
Plan a Christmas tree trip around Aurora, Harvard, Woodstock and Rockton, explore the fields near Oregon and DeKalb, or head to Rantoul and Pocahontas. These farms offer field-grown pines, firs and spruces, pre-cut trees and some rooted choices, with prices and visit details to help you choose your stop.
Choose your tree
Ben’s offers eight field-grown varieties, while Sinnissippi pairs choose-and-cut Scotch pine and Fraser fir with fresh-cut pines and firs. Richardson has pre-cut Fraser and Canaan firs, including taller trees in limited supply. Oney’s and Daniken also offer rooted trees; check their planting and indoor-care advice before choosing one.
Compare prices
Ben’s prices trees by the foot with a 6.5ft minimum charge. Richardson’s standard field-tree price is $98 plus tax, with some trees individually tagged. Daniken and Lee’s publish species and height ranges. Williams charges separately for shaking and baling; Abbey includes those services with a tree purchase. Confirm the marked price and any extras before cutting.
Plan your visit
Abbey requires a free reservation for each car and stops U-cut vehicle entry at 5pm. Ben’s and Lee’s list selected selling days, while Grandpa’s closes its gates at 3:30pm so visitors can finish before dark. Richardson’s fields are unlit after sunset, although the pre-cut area is lit. Check your farm’s posted calendar and remaining selection before setting off.
Christmas extras
Every tree purchase at Abbey includes a donut and small hot chocolate. Richardson has a heated barn with indoor restrooms and complimentary hot chocolate or coffee. Sinnissippi offers cider donuts, warm drinks and a fire pit, with scheduled Santa visits and wagon rides. Hardy’s reindeer tours cost extra and have their own conditions; plan them separately from tree shopping.
