Choose your Christmas tree.

Choose a tree in the Middlebury fields, or browse fresh Vermont-grown precuts. Most precuts come from the farm’s Lincoln planting; other trees come from growers in the New Hampshire–Vermont Christmas Tree Association.

Field trees of any size have one price. Precuts are priced by height, with taller or shorter trees individually marked. The racks regularly carry 8–11-foot trees; call before traveling for a 15–20-foot tree, which is available only as a precut.

The farm notes that firs retain their needles longer indoors than spruces. Balsam is the traditional fragrant choice, while white pine has soft, full branches. Hybrid fir availability has its own weekend restrictions.

Help from the farm team

Staff can help with tree selection, baling and getting your tree into or tied onto your car.

Warm drinks and the Christmas shop

Complimentary hot cocoa is offered on weekends. Ask to see the G-scale model train or visit Twister, the Christmas pony. The shop also offers wreaths, garland, maple syrup, honey and farm-made wool products. Farm-raised lamb is also sold in the shop.

Compare the tree varieties

Look at needle texture and branch spacing as well as height. The weekend-only hybrids can sell out before the rest of the field crop.
