Choose your Christmas tree.
Choose a tree in the areas the farm has opened for cutting, or select a precut if you prefer a quicker stop. The main crop is balsam and Fraser fir.
The farm describes balsam as the stronger-scented traditional choice and Fraser as having better needle retention with a gentler fragrance. Trees are priced at $8 per foot.

Cutting and transport
Borrow a hand saw and ask for cutting help if needed. The farm will wrap your tree to make transport easier.
Tagging your tree early
Bring ribbon with your name clearly written in several places and wrap the tree thoroughly. Tag only the trees you intend to buy. Pre-tagged trees are not guaranteed against another customer cutting them by mistake.
Small unnamed ribbons in the choose-and-cut area can be the farm’s wholesale markers. Those trees may still be selected; respect trees clearly marked with another customer’s name.
Payment and preparing to leave
Bring cash or a local check. Unreliable cell service prevents dependable credit-card processing; there is an ATM in Craftsbury village. Venmo is an occasional option only when weather and staffing allow it.
After choosing, borrow one of the hand saws or ask for cutting assistance. Staff can wrap the tree to make carrying it home and taking it indoors easier.
