Choose your Christmas tree.

The farm’s choose-and-cut announcement lists trees up to 20ft, including Fraser, Nordmann, Korean, Concolor, Turkish and Canaan fir, Colorado Blue spruce and White pine. The mail-order size ceiling is separate: up to 7ft.

Potted choices include Colorado Blue spruce and Norway spruce in nursery pots. Unsheared trees and advance tagging are listed for farm visitors.

The farm visit.

Choosing a tree and taking it home

Select your tree and the crew cuts and hauls it to the entrance, then bales, drills and loads it onto your vehicle. Shady Rest also offers select-and-ship: choose a tree at the farm for shipment on your requested day.

The Express and children’s treats

The Shady Rest Tree Farm Express runs Thanksgiving weekend and the first two weekends in December, weather permitting. Free coffee and hot chocolate are offered after tree selection, with lollipops and Christmas-tree coloring books for children. Restrooms and live animals are listed among the farm’s amenities.

Wreaths and garland

Browse standard and church-door Fraser fir wreaths, White pine garland in different lengths, candy-cane designs, swags and Advent wreaths. Contact the farm a day or so ahead for several wreaths so they can be prepared. Online orders accept check or money order, with payment required before shipment. For on-site payment options, check with the farm.

Select-and-ship visits

Call a few days ahead to arrange a selection date and tagging help for select-and-ship orders. For multiple items, call or email for the exact shipping quote.

The farm offers 21ft Fraser fir or white-pine garlands. Standard and church-door wreaths can include an optional red bow.
