Choose your Christmas tree.
Choose from the designated tree patch, where tags show each tree’s price and location code. Staff do all cutting, hauling, shaking, baling and loading. Scotch and white pines are cut fresh on weekends for the lot, alongside a limited selection of Michigan-grown firs.
Tagging begins at 7am on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and a cutting crew is available if you want to take your tree that day. Bring a pen and permanent marker, plus your mailed postcard if you have one. Fill out a registration card with your contact information and the tree number, row code and price; mark the remaining tree tag with your name unless it is wet, and take the bottom tag and card to the shop or outdoor pay station. Pay when selecting or collecting the tree, and keep the bottom tag for pickup.
Tree species

The farm visit.
A warm stop in the shop
Browse ornaments, nativities, figurines and light-up decorations with coffee or cocoa beside the wood-burning stove. Children can watch the N-scale train and look for details in the Lego Christmas display. Santa makes scheduled appearances; check the farm’s calendar before planning around a visit.
Wreaths and decorating
Fresh noble fir wreaths, swags, roping, evergreen bunches, centerpieces, baskets and patio trees are available. Custom designs can be arranged with the decorators. Individuals can make a wreath, centerpiece or porch pot during walk-in DIY decorating, except on Opening Day.
Group make-and-take classes accommodate up to 10 participants, with groups of 8–10 arranged through Jenny at howelltree@aol.com. Evening times can be arranged, and light snacks are provided. Wreath decorating is $75 per person; a Christmas centerpiece class is $55 per person. Confirm the class date and project when arranging your visit.
Stands and transport
Small and large Marriage Saver stands include free mounting in the first year of purchase; later mounting carries a small fee. Drilled spike stands are also available: tell the crew if your trunk needs drilling before you leave. Extra buckets and tree-removal bags are sold in the shop. Staff supply twine; an old sheet or blanket can cushion the car roof.
