Winterberry’s seventeen acres grow an unusually broad mix: white pine; white, blue, Serbian, Meyer and Black Hills spruce; and Canaan, Fraser, balsam, Fralsam, concolor, Nikko, Korean and Turkish fir. The current operator program prices all sizes and varieties at $75 including Connecticut sales tax. The association also lists Veitch fir; check which varieties are ready in the fields.
Pick up a cart near the parking area, walk past the pay sheds and collect a handsaw near the baling tables. After cutting, bring the tree back for netting. Chainsaws are not allowed. Twine is available near parking for securing the tree to your vehicle.

The two barns
The gray barn sells wreaths, kissing balls and greens. The red barn has a woodstove warming area and gifts including birdhouses, crates, maple cutting boards, sassafras trays, walking sticks, wooden trees, birch reindeer and farm caps or beanies. Many woodcrafts use wood harvested on the farm. Other gifts include Winterberry Farm candles poured by the Rustic Barn, potpourri and scented soaps.
Hot chocolate is free on weekends, with optional donations supporting the Paul Dostie KARE Foundation under the current program. Friendly dogs may visit on a leash, with waste stations provided; a portable toilet is available. Professional photography sessions are not accepted.
Seasonal opening and later tree recycling
The current season opens Friday, November 27, 9am–4:30pm. Saturdays and Sundays use the same hours, and weekdays are posted at 1–4:30pm through December 18. Check the farm for remaining inventory and later-season arrangements.
The farm profile also advertises tree recycling after the season. Ask about the current collection dates, drop-off arrangements and accepted trees before returning with one.
