Find your tree
Choose your Christmas tree.
Staehly opens twenty acres of Christmas trees for choose-and-cut harvesting. The operator describes twelve varieties, with balsam, Fraser and concolor fir and blue spruce among the examples. Its previous season’s flat price was $87 plus tax for any size or variety, rather than a different field price for each species.
Handsaws and tree carts are supplied; chainsaws are prohibited. The farm suggests a piece of cardboard or a blanket to kneel on while cutting. Shaking and wrapping are complimentary. Call about availability and sizes before planning to buy a precut or potted tree.

Fresh greenery and custom wreaths
The Christmas shop sells handmade wreaths, kissing balls, centerpieces, sprays and fresh greens. Custom wreaths are offered until Christmas, using greens cut daily and a choice of more than 150 ribbons. Call about a custom order or browse the wreaths already available. The published shop range includes wreaths from eight to sixty inches, plus local honey, syrup, jams and jellies.
Hot chocolate and chocolate-covered marshmallows are also described among the Christmas-shop treats. Check their availability and price when planning the visit; they are separate from the tree’s posted price.
Tree hours and visit rules
The previous tree calendar ran November 28–December 14, Monday and Wednesday–Friday noon–4pm and weekends 9am–4pm, with Tuesdays closed and a prompt 4pm closing. Generic farm or winery footer hours do not replace that tree calendar. Leashed dogs and restrooms are listed.
Add a separate winery or cider stop
Staehly’s fruit-winery tasting room is advertised from May through December, with a rotating selection from fourteen wines made with fruit grown on the farm. The tasting room’s general weekend hours differ from the tree-selling calendar. Check the actual tasting day, selection and charges before combining the visits; a tasting is not included with a Christmas tree. Town Street serves tastings and bottle sales only; wine by the glass is offered at the separate Petticoat Lane taproom.
The winery’s range runs from dry apple wine to sweeter fruit styles, with apple, blueberry, rhubarb, peach and plum among the published choices. A tasting can help compare the styles before choosing a bottle; the available wines rotate. At the separate cider barn, flights and pours offer another way to compare a changing list of plain-apple, fruit and spiced hard ciders. Contact the tasting room for the day’s selection and charges.
The adjacent Yankee Cider Barn at 23 Petticoat Lane is a separate year-round taproom in a restored nineteenth-century barn. It advertises a rotating twelve-hard-cider draft selection as well as Staehly wines, plus outdoor seating and bonfires in good weather. Use the cider barn’s own hours and arrangements for that extra stop; it is not another tree-selling entrance.
