Living Christmas tree
Potted or balled-and-burlapped trees need a short indoor stay and a planting plan. Holiday living trees are excluded from the standard nursery guarantee.
Sprucedale offers both fresh-cut Christmas trees and living trees for later planting. An earlier operator notice describes balsam and Fraser fir precuts from 5 to 10 feet, displayed after Thanksgiving; confirm the actual species and remaining heights before travelling. Living trees are sold growing in pots or with roots wrapped in burlap, a different choice from a cut tree.
A living tree needs a short indoor stay and a planting plan. The nursery’s care guidance recommends roughly a week to ten days indoors, away from heat and bright sunlight, with the soil checked daily and kept evenly moist. Prepare the planting hole and keep some backfill soil unfrozen before bringing the tree indoors; follow the nursery’s care sheet for the particular tree.
Living Christmas trees and plants overwintered in containers are excluded from the standard nursery guarantee. Do not assume the general one-year guarantee covers a holiday tree or promises survival after planting.
Fresh greens and getting a tree home
The earlier holiday notice also offers balsam and mixed-green wreaths, cemetery boxes, planters filled with greens and berries, and gift certificates. Ask about the current assortment and any custom lead time.
That same notice explicitly offers Christmas-tree delivery. Confirm that it is still available for your selected tree, address and date, and agree the delivery charge in advance; the older offer does not establish current delivery terms.
November and holiday opening hours
The nursery posts a November programme of Tuesday–Saturday, 9am–4pm, weather permitting, with Sundays closed. Its November start and end dates disagree between November 1–22 and November 2–25. Confirm the actual selling day before travelling, especially around the change to holiday hours.
The December programme is Wednesday–Saturday, 10am–4pm and Sunday, 1–3pm, weather permitting or by appointment. Its posted seasonal window also differs: November 24–December 24 versus November 27–December 23. Call the appointment/weather contact to confirm the transition and the opening on your intended day.
January–March nursery visits are by appointment; the January start date also differs between the first and fourth. The earlier holiday article’s Friday–Saturday opening and Sunday closure do not replace these separate November, December and winter arrangements.
