Find your tree

Choose your Christmas tree.

Cedar Spring grows naturally trimmed Norway spruce, blue spruce and concolor fir, with sizes for different rooms and ceiling heights. The current tree page posts $80 plus Connecticut sales tax for its shorter-tree tier and $100 plus tax over nine feet. Its duplicated “under nine feet and under” wording does not clearly settle the price of a tree exactly nine feet tall, so confirm that boundary before cutting. Baby trees are charged the full tree price.

The announced sale dates are November 22, 10am–3pm with no appointment, and November 27–29 and December 5–6, 9am–3:30pm while supplies last. The appointment subsection and separate booking page still show previous-season dates. Confirm peak-day appointment requirements and your intended selling day directly before travelling; current appointment availability has not been established.

From the bow saw to checkout

A farmer greets you and supplies a bow saw. After cutting, take the tree to the baler for measuring and wrapping; customers load and secure it to their own vehicle. Staff give you a price card, then you drive down to the farm store to pay by cash or Venmo.

The farm does not offer field tagging. By arrangement, you may select, cut, buy and wrap a tree for pickup later the same day, before closing. This is not a reservation for an uncut tree in the fields.

Arrival and the farm store

Arrive no more than ten minutes before an appointment. Cross the stone bridge, keep left at the split and continue approximately nine hundred feet up the long driveway to the baler and parking. The farm is hilly and unpaved; wear suitable shoes and contact staff in advance for an access plan.

The farm store has a woodstove, complimentary candy canes for children, holiday goods and farm merchandise while supplies last. The farm’s cottage is separately booked accommodation, not part of a tree purchase.

Prepare the stand before your visit

The farm’s tree-care guidance recommends a reservoir stand with about one quart of water capacity per inch of trunk diameter. Choose a stand that fits without shaving away the outer trunk wood. Before display, make a straight fresh cut of about half an inch from the base, put the tree in water promptly and check daily that the cut end stays submerged.

Keep the tree away from fireplaces, heaters and direct heat. A cool temporary storage spot and a water-filled bucket can help if it is not going straight into the stand. Use low-heat lights, inspect cords, switch lights off while asleep or away, and remove a very dry tree. Never burn a Christmas tree in a fireplace or woodstove.

The separately booked farm cottage

The year-round cottage is a seven-hundred-square-foot timber building on two floors, with living and work space, an equipped kitchen, bathroom and laundry downstairs and a queen bed upstairs. It sits on the sixteen-acre working farm beside a hundred-and-fifty-five-acre protected area with trails. The cottage has its own accommodation booking; check rates and availability through the farm’s linked listing.
