Noel’s separates a roadside pre-cut season from choose-and-cut in the fields. Pre-cut sales begin November 21, while field cutting starts Black Friday and ends when that stock sells out. The farm is open into the evening, but choose-and-cut finishes at 4:30pm; an evening visit is therefore a different buying plan.
Fraser, balsam and blue balsam fir are the principal published choices, with concolor in limited supply. Live trees are also available separately. The pre-cut selection is described from tabletop size to more than twenty feet; the site’s broader very-large-tree claims should not be read as a fifty-foot field-tree promise. Businesses seeking a huge tree should enquire by email about the actual tree and delivery arrangements.
Staff measure the selected tree before it is cut so the customer knows the price. Bow saws are supplied and power tools are prohibited. No advance tagging is offered. The FAQ’s $15+ starting figure has no attached height or full-size category, so use the price of the actual measured tree rather than treating it as a typical family-tree quote.

Which variety suits your decorations?
General tree guidance; the farm’s selection, sizes and services are described above.
- Fraser fir
- Upward branches and good needle retention; firmer branches can suit heavier ornaments.
- Balsam fir
- A notably fragrant choice with soft needles.
- Concolor fir
- Longer, silver-blue needles with a citrus scent when crushed.

Santa, hayrides and the tree maze
The ordinary holiday visit includes a free petting zoo, tree maze and hot cocoa. Santa appears on weekends from 1–3pm, and free hayrides are offered on weekends. The FAQ also mentions Black Friday Santa, but does not give that additional appearance its own time; the weekend 1–3pm window should not be assumed for it.
Animals can be fed daily. Fire pits add another place to gather, but s’mores and marshmallows are purchased separately. On November 28, the farm advertises fireworks at 7pm. Plan that evening separately from field cutting, which ends much earlier.
Wreaths are sold plain or decorated, along with garland and roping, kissing balls, centerpieces, swags and cut greens. These purchases are separate from the free activities and from the price of a tree.
Services, payment and bringing a dog
The farm supplies rope and describes staff tie-on as free. Bathrooms are available, and green branches are offered with a tree purchase. Cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted; the Wednesday 10% discount is limited to seniors age sixty or older or military with valid ID during the posted 10am–7pm period.
Dog guidance is inconsistent: a prominent notice says no dogs because of the farm animals, another homepage section welcomes friendly leashed dogs with cleanup, and the FAQ prefers no pets. Do not rely on the welcome line alone. Leave dogs at home unless the farm confirms the policy for your visit. This conflict is particularly relevant to a visit built around the animals.
A separately booked school outing
Weekday school visits are a distinct booked package, offered on limited days with availability arranged in advance. The rate is $10 per child, adults are free, and the current group minimum is ten. The farm says admission can be waived for children facing financial hardship.
The outdoor educational outing includes a tractor-drawn covered-wagon ride, cocoa around the fire, marshmallows, a visit with the animals and tree maze, and a goody bag for each child. The listed bag contains a coloring book, crayons and a mini candy cane. Dress warmly for the entirely outdoor visit.
Each class receives a live tree, and each child receives a $5 family coupon. Arrange the available date and exact group package directly with the farm; these school benefits are separate from the ordinary free weekend activities.
A family Christmas-tree tradition
The Kessler family’s tree-selling tradition grew from George’s return after military service and has continued with children and grandchildren. The family’s wider southern New Hampshire farming history gives the current Litchfield visit a background beyond a seasonal sales lot.
The farm takes its name from Noel Lemire. The land’s story includes the Duval and Lemire families, with Paul Lemire converting it to a Christmas-tree farm before the Kesslers bought it. The Kesslers’ own farming background included a historic Nashua dairy farm before this Litchfield chapter.
Personal and professional photographs
Personal family photographs are allowed. Professional sessions are separately paid and arranged by email; contact the farm for the current booking arrangements rather than treating a tree purchase as a professional-session reservation.
