Choose your Christmas tree.
The Wakefield–Reading Y Service Club’s annual tree and wreath sale takes place on the shore of Lake Quannapowitt. Past sales have offered Nova Scotia balsam fir and decorated wreaths; check the next sale’s actual selection. The all-volunteer club uses the fundraiser to support local families and YMCA programs, including subsidized childcare, camp and health activities.
Volunteers help visitors choose a tree, provide a fresh base cut and net the tree for transport. The tree and wreath fundraiser supports local families and YMCA programs. Check the next sale announcement for the actual tree selection, price and selling days.
The farm visit.
Shopping and volunteering
The club has offered three-hour volunteer shifts to students and other community members, with written service-hour confirmation. Arrange volunteering through the club rather than treating a shopping visit as a reserved shift. Tree and wreath choices, selling hours and payment arrangements follow the announced sale.
Finding the sale and asking questions
The club describes its sale on the Lake Quannapowitt shore. An operator-contributed earlier profile places it at Hall Park/Veterans Field, 468 North Avenue; confirm the current entrance from the next sale announcement before relying on that older numeric location.
Earlier published hours are 10am–9pm, while a different older YMCA notice ends at 8:30pm. These are prior sale calendars, not a newly confirmed daily opening. Club president David Workman at 617-899-6216 and volunteer@wrysc.org accepts tree-sale questions as well as volunteer enquiries; this is the club contact, not a YMCA front desk.
