Choose your Christmas tree.

Turkey Hill grows Douglas fir, Fraser fir and blue spruce for choosing and cutting on its Haverhill farm. Its published selection reaches about 9 feet for Douglas fir and 10 feet for Fraser fir. Blue spruce reaches about 8 feet, with most around 7 feet. These are the advertised height ranges; the trees remaining in each variety change as the season progresses.

The announced tree season opens November 27–29, 9am–4pm, followed by Saturdays and Sundays at the same hours until sold out. The farm hopes to continue close to Christmas, but does not guarantee that trees will last that long. Check its latest notice before a later-season trip; the opening weekend does not establish later Friday hours.

Choose among the trees grown in the fields, using the published variety and height ranges to plan your search. Measure the space at home before selecting a tree; a particular size or variety is subject to what remains.

Cutting tools and included handling

The farm supplies tree carts and long-handled handsaws. Bringing your own handsaw can help on the busy first weekend. Chainsaws are prohibited. Tree purchase includes shaking, drilling for a pin-style stand if needed, and wrapping with twine or netting. Stands and tree-disposal bags are sold separately.

Toilets and hand sanitizer are available. Pets are not allowed.

Tree prices and payment

Most trees are $122 plus tax. Individually marked exceptions have reduced prices, with some as low as $10; follow the tag on the particular tree. Cash and checks are preferred. Credit-card use carries a $4 convenience fee.

Middle Road approach

Use 380 Middle Road in Haverhill. From Route 110 toward Merrimac, the published approach turns onto Middle Road, with the farm about seven-tenths of a mile along on the right. Check remaining trees before a later-season visit.

Summer berry picking

Turkey Hill separately offers pick-your-own blueberries and raspberries during July and August. Check crop readiness and the summer picking schedule before travelling; berry picking belongs to the growing season and is not a Christmas-tree activity.
